Jack passively relays his environment to the reader. An environment composed of deceitful humans who speak the truth as much as they can. All the while, in the background, there is white noise.
DeLillo uses words like the, very best, magician performing card tricks: we are pulled along, bumping over incidents that make us feel a bit queasy and others that almost make us laugh... but before you know it... you are already two pages past.
Anyways, I recommend this book. The insight into modern America suburbia is incredible and very sad.

I'll wedge it between the seats during "Atanarjuat".

I don't have this book, but my friend does. I asked in one of the forums and people generally seemed to think I should make an entry for her. When I signed up for BookCrossing and was telling my friend about it, she mentioned that she had found White Noise at Cinema du Parc last summer. She had read it and we ended up having a good discussion about Don DeLillo and his writing. I think my friend really enjoyed the book. She tried to make a journal entry but the BCID # was written in the book incorrectly. I got the correct number from Zoe and gave it to my friend, but I don't know if she will make an entry. She did say that she planned to pass the book along, however, so we may hear from this book again.

Yes, I've got the book, Idioteqnician...and I won't be holding on to it for much longer. I've needed it for two classes this semester and I promise that by May it'll be back in circulation. This novel was my introduction to Don DeLillo and all I can say is that it opened my eyes to even more of the disillusioning realities of American culture.

LONG LIVE BookCrossing.com!!! (That one was for you, Idioteq).

I was given this book today by Ladyevil's boyfriend. She has read it and so has he, but neither wants to be the one to bookcross it. So they gave it to me to do that. I will leave it on the candy girl's counter at Cinema du Parc.
