A wonderful window into the intense hardships and deprivations suffered by Soviet Union at the hands of Nazi Germany. A beautiful, imposible, love story threaded through the book. This is a book you cant bear to finish yet you simply cant put down. Prepare to go without food or any social interaction until you have reached the final page. DONT read the last page first!
