I'm not usually one for period books (that is, set in the past), but rather than that being the focal point, I barely noticed. It was more of an "oh yeah, it's 1951."
Being used to military scenarios in books taking place now (a la Richard Marcinko), the 50s gunplay seemed fairly tame - what, no whisper mikes?
All that aside, it was a good read.

i love stephen hunter and i am excited about reading this book
i am big fan of stephen hunter and i think this is my favorite book of his. it was an excellent read and i would recommend it to any adventure fan or a fan of military or gunfighters. thanks to heather for releasing it to me.
