I've read these stories and much of Elizabeth Spencer's other work. The title story here, "The Light in the Piazza," is probably most well known. Elizabeth Specer is a fine writer and she portrays Southern women with insight. I've released her work several times in BookCrossing. Here are just two of the releases: https://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/2300120; https://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/10092716.

Six years before the Tara Theater opened here in 1968, the movie version of 'A Light in the Piazza,' staring Olivia de Haviland of 'Gone With the Wind' fame premiered. Things have changed a lot since then. The Tara Theater, namesake of 'Gone With the Wind''s and Ireland's legendary Tara, went through many different owners and screened movies for over 50 years. Recently, it stood closed for several months. This weekend this beloved movie house re-opened. Christopher Escobar, who has also preserved the historic Plaza Theatre on Ponce de Leon, led a team of investors to make the movies roll again at the theatre. To celebrate, I'm releasing this book at the Tara. 'The Light in the Piazza,' the film can be streamed at these sites: https://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/light-in-the-piazza.
This is probably the first time, the story has been available at the Tara.

Released 9 mos ago (5/30/2023 UTC) at Tara Cinema, 2345 Cheshire Bridge Road in Atlanta, Georgia USA

It is good to see the Tara Theatre alive with screenings and patrons again. This book left the ticket booth a while ago. I hope it is finding happy BookCrossing adventures.
