Journal Entry 1 by Mistlerose from Frankston, Victoria Australia on Saturday, May 20, 2023
Jake Hayes is missing. This much is certain. At first, his wife, Nina, thinks he is blowing off steam at a friend’s house after their heated fight the night before. But then a day goes by. Two days. Five. And Jake is still nowhere to be found.

Lily Scott, Nina’s friend and coworker, thinks she may have been the last to see Jake before he went missing. After Lily confesses everything to her husband, Christian, the two decide that nobody can find out what happened leading up to Jake’s disappearance, especially not Nina. But Nina is out there looking for her husband, and she won’t stop until the truth is discovered.

Dr Jake Hayes is missing, but his wife Nina thinks he is punishing her after the fight they had the night before. Then after a couple of days go by, he has not accessed their bank account and a colleague from the hospital calls he has not turned up for work, he would never miss work. Lily Scott, Nina’s friend and co-worker had seen Jake on the day he went missing and had hit him in the head with a rock when he tried to grab her, she told her husband Christian about it. Most of the book is about Lily and Christian trying to cover up the possibility Lily may have killed Jake.

Interesting mystery about two different couples and a murder. I found the story to be engrossing and fluid. It wasn’t deceiving in the way thrillers normally are, but it was a well laid out and an enjoyable read.
