I was a lucky winner of an ARC of this novel from Goodreads. I had never heard of the series but had no problem getting into the story and understanding the connections between the characters. Though it was set in 2009, the situations are straight from the headlines of 2023. The author does a great job of informing as well as advancing the narrative.

The main character is a trans woman lawyer whose new client is the mother of a trans girl. That storyline is in the middle of murder, political corruption, and family drama.

I'm releasing this at the Book Swap. If a new reader doesn't select it, it will go on the shelf of the shop to benefit the library.
