Mary Swann, an ordinary rural housewife with a small world wrote poetry and then was murdered. Years later there is a symposium in her honour and all sorts of scholars and other interested parties gather to argue over her, put their different pieces of the puzzle together and perhaps show that poetry has a mysterious life of its own.
