Kerry can sense arson, she experiences this as traumatic but it makes her a damn good investigator. She is stalked by a man named Silver who also has psychic powers but can't do what she does. Yes somehow he presents himself as superior to her. If that beginning was a thriller where she needs to get away from him I think it would have worked better for me but he's the love interest and she has to "learn to trust" and all that cliched misogynist stuff
