Having visited both north & southern Cyprus, this brought home the enormity of the troubles the islanders have gone through.
I struggled at first to understand that the fig tree was narrating but loved reading about Kostas’ plant research. Defne’s experience after Kosta left Cyprus & her job finding lost family members was heart wrenching .
The story ended abruptly to me ???
