This is one of the books I swapped in Flawith during a short tour of local red telephone box book exchanges yesterday, chosen because I'd previously enjoyed A Gathering Light by this author.

I struggled with the small print in this book, finding it difficult to read, even in strong light. It didn't help that over 700 pages of small print seemed like a daunting prospect. I kept trying for a while, just reading a few pages at a time, but eventually gave up. Unfortunately I couldn't get sufficiently interested in the story to force myself to keep going!

This is one of the books I swapped this afternoon on my first visit to the Saints red telephone box in quite a while. It's currently very well stocked, pleasingly so.

3/4 way through this book & im thoroughly enjoying it!!! Love modern history/medicine & this novel has it all … with a feeling of peaky blinders & call the midwife. Highly recommend. Will replace it back at st Winifred’s telephone box in Harrogate xx
