Found at Turner Drive Book Exchange in Burlington, Ontario. The book began as a science based murder mystery, with an entomologist being asked to join in the investigation. Lots of references to locations in and around Hamilton, Ontario. The book took a weird science fiction turn, in the middle of the book, that I did not expect, and just got weird near the end.

From authors Website: Murder Bugs: A Love Story is a twist-filled crime thriller about an entomologist helping the police solve a series of horrific killings by insects.

This is a strange story and I can honestly say I don't recall reading anything like it before. It's kind of a cross between The Fly and Jurassic Park. As a chilopodophobe, I wasn't sure I'd make it past the first few pages but I persevered. I liked the science-y part and I loved recognizing the place names in the city I live in.

I did find Greg to be an odd character; his character seemed to flip flop a lot in terms of his value system. He was immature although not so young. I am not sure the DNA part is explained enough to make it believable, but the premise is plausible so it held my interest to the end.

I am not the least bit embarassed to say that I checked every nook and cranny of my bathroom before having a shower this morning - and may just do so for the rest of my life!!
