A Slow Fire Burning

Here is a synopsis of this book taken from the outside back page of the book:
When a young man is found gruesomely murdered on a London houseboat, it triggers a question about three women who knew him. Laura is the troubled one-night stand last seen at the victim's home. Carla is his grief-stricken aunt, already mourning the recent death of yet another family member. And Miriam is the nosy neighbor, clearly keeping secrets from the police. Three women with separate connections to the victim. Three women who are ---for different reasons---simmering with resentment. Who are, whether they know it or not, burning to right the wrongs done to them. When it comes revenge, even good people might be capable of terrible deeds. How far might any one of them go to find peace? How long can secrets smolder before they explode into flames?
I read Paula Hawkins' book, The Girl on the Train and enjoyed it very much. I was looking forward to reading her novel, A Slow Fire Burning. Unfortunately, I did not like it very much at all. It was a slow slog for me to get completely through the book, but I was finally able to do so. Even though this book did not resonate with me, I know there are tons of readers who will love reading A Slow Fire Burning, so I plan to release it soon at my county library. If you come across it, I wish you good reading.
