In Victorian London, Zillah has star billing on the London stage at Crillick's Variety Theatre​. ​An orphan from the slums of St Giles​ she perform​s as The Great Amazonia​, a savage, found in the jungles of Africa and captured by an intrepid English explorer but all is not as it seems. Zillah is a 'gaffed freak' — someone who is just pretending.
