Short stories of fiction. Stories of the bonds between man, woman, child and parent. A Canadian writer who deserves much more recognition. Each story , a snapshot of life on a Maritime farm and the rolling of the seas. A nice clean read with vivid imagry and real life.
Released to Book Crosser -- Red via mail.
The book arrived today via mail. It is on a tall stack next to my bed of books in various stages of being read! LOL. I will read, post my thoughts and re-release!
Rich human emotions and characters in a collection of short stories set in Cape Breton, Canada. Stories like these are what I read to experience -- places, situations and people I might not otherwise "meet." Beautifully written; I will look up other work of this writer. I'll be releasing this to a friend this weekend with instructions on where to release if she doesn't care to read it.

Book was still sitting there when I went to release another book there, so I've taken it and will release via mail to fellow BCer and friend who likes short stories.
Strong images and characters from the earthy everyday of blue-collar Canada, an area about which I have known little but now, thanks to Alistair MacLeod, feel I know a little better. Well worth reading.
Received from Red on 1/4/2003. Will release at the AT&T Cafeteria, Lisle, IL, on 1/7/2003. Happy travels, little book.
