The Shot Anthology: Vol. 1
3 journalers for this copy...
'The Shot' - and David Milner's writing especially - got me through the seemingly endless Melbourne COVID-19 lockdowns. Have bought a copy for myself - and am sharing this one with my fellow bookcrossers in our end of year Evil Santa!
My contribution to the Evil Santa game for our last bookcrossing meetup for 2022.
Picked up as my Evil Santa book at Xmas 2022 meetup
I picked this up as an Evil Santa present at the end of 2022. I had never heard of the Shot, and am glad I did not know about it during Melbourne’s long lockdowns in 2020 and 2021 as I would have found reading these essays at the time quite depressing. In hindsight it was not so bad reading them, and getting a laugh occasionally which I would not have done at the time. I did find David Milner’s strong anti Murdoch press comments a bit over the top at times, even though I did not actually read any of the Murdoch owned newspapers at all, or listen to any of their broadcasts. An interesting perspective on Australia, politics, politicians and life during the Corona virus pandemic.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
To be released at Meetup
The Shot and its talented team of writers came to prominence during the Melbourne lockdowns and the madness that accompanied them. Loved reading it at the time so it will be interesting to see how they have held up now that's its apparently all behind us. On Mt TBR it goes!
