It probably helps if you’re familiar with Italy , but the description of locations and surroundings, not to mention the deliberate sprinkling of Italian words into the text were lost on me. If I didn’t already know the word, sometimes I lost a lot of context of what was being discussed and I had to go back and reread many passages, which I found distracting. In general, I thought it was pretty slow. But it’s a national bestseller, so I must be in the minority. If you like mysteries, give it. Read!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Taking to the Bookcrossing table at the Day of the Book Festival
Pretty sure this is one in the series that I have not read. I really like this series but it is not as light and fluffy (escapist) as a lot of the more popular cozy mystery series. I remember sharing them with my friend at work, who was a surgeon, and his initial response was that and his wife thought they were a bit too gruesome. 6 weeks later he asked me if I had any more because on further reflection they both had a higher opinion of the book.
If for some reason it turns out I have already read this or have an unregistered copy on my bookshelf, I will pass it to Mom Oyster who has friends fighting over the other books in the series she picked up today.
ETA: Well, I haven't read this one. But I do have a copy sitting on my unregistered TBR shelf. So I will offer this copy to Mom Oyster's friends. All of her titles have a poetic quality to them and that seems to get in the way of remembering if I have read them yet.
