"Bought" 2nd hand in Klagenfurts "Together wortreich" on our roundtrip through Austria. The plan was to pick up, read and release Bookcrossing books along the trip, but it seems to be quite difficult to get BC books in some regions of Austria (most of the regions actually), so I thought a Gemeinwohl "shop" to be the 2nd best choice.

Looks like quite a good read!

The book has what looks to me like an original korean price sticker, so it must have travelled a bit already...

I have read quite some books about North Korea, but I think none about South Korea. Most of the North Korean authors were of course defectors to the South (or I would never have been able to read their work...) and as they were all but enthusiastic about the North (after all, they left!), they (and I think rather understandably) were also irritated by the South with its extreme at the other and of the spectrum. I don't know what I thought, but of course the extreme developments on both sides started after the war... anyway I was surprised about the poverty in the early years.

I'm fascinated by the difference between the covers of the versions of this book in different languages. It looks like the German version has a much more feminist and less fairy style taste, even in the title.
