This book is in a Controlled Release!
8 journalers for this copy...
The cover differs to my own copy, I own the British paperback edition, even the title differs. In England, it's named E. the novel of liars, lunch and lost knickers :-)
"E is a tapestry of insincerity, backstabbing and bare-faced bitchiness - just everyday office politics.
Meet....
A CEO with an MBA from the Joseph Stalin School of Management.
A director who is a genius, if only in his own head.
Creatives with remarkable brains, if only in their trousers.
A copywriter with two things no adwoman should ever let show - underarm hair and a conscience.
Secretaries who drip honey and spit cyanide.
The sad git in accounts.
Consisting entirely of e-mails, E Spends a few weeks in the company of Miller Shanks, an advertising agency embarked upon the quest to land Coca-Cola - the account they would sell their collective grandmothers in a car boot sale to acquire. This is one pitch that nobody will ever forget...."
and if my memory serves me right, this was a very funny read!

I loved this book and whipped through it pretty quickly. It's another of those where I frequently found myself snickering aloud. Some parts of it were funny enough to read out to my spouse. I am definitely interested in reading the second installment, "The e. before Christmas" -- I'm trying to get my hands on a copy!
Update July 5: On its way to next BCer!

Received today. I was really excited to have mail from Honolulu! For me it's one of those mythic places you dream about but you're not really sure they exist! So faraway and exotic! (I know, it's kind of dumb... but Honolulu, Bora-Bora, Hawaï, Mahé, Tahiti... all those names ring a special kind of bell for me!)
It is a funny read. Some of the mails sound really truer than life!
Thank you Leighspeak for the hours of laughing reading this book!
I'll mail this tomorrow to BlossomU in Lisbon!

Just arrived, and looking irresistible, I will get to it at once. Thanks brujula and Leighspeak. One question though, I am last in this ray, Leighspeak, any chance there are more people interested in this ray? If you know anybody else who would like to read it let me know who to send it. If there are no other plans I will release it at next meetup or something like that.
PS - Justicar here in Lisbon asked to added to the bookray, will be passing him the book after I finish it.

Oh, this was lots of fun, and such a fast read it is now done ( though I stayed up too late last night reading it). The format is all emails and at first it was awfully confusing, I had trouble picking who was who, but soon enough I knew those people and it was lots of fun. Characters are not at all deep, the backstabbing manouvers are outrageous, the timing excellent, and while it is not at all serious, it is a very nicely put together, and tells a story in a inconventional way.
About the bookray, Leighspeak, can you let me know if you want to ask for more participants?
September 8 - still waiting for any preferences bookray organizer might have about what to do with this book, but in the meanwhile, Justicar was interested in reading it and passed him the book yesterday. I can ship it any place required after he reads it.

Fast to read and put a big smile on my face at the end of it, indeed the everyday life of networking, teambulding, motivation and career on a company, read and laugh ;)
It's with me :-) BlossomU thought I might like to read this after I mentioned how much I enjoyed "Boy meets Girl" ... To be read sometime soon ...
Ouch !! Talk about backstabbing in the work environment :P Remind me never to go work in an advertising agency .. it sure looks stressful ;-)
I had a laugh while reading this book, thanks BlossomU and Leighspeak !
