This slim book is from several crates' worth of books that I got at New Searles Elementary School, where they were being given away. This one's a retelling of the history of real-world John "Johnny Appleseed" Chapman, who did in fact spend much of his life wandering the American frontier creating apple orchards (though not, as is often depicted, by strolling by and hurling apple seeds into the distance - he knew that it takes more care than that to get decent apple orchards going).

I left this book, bagged against the elements, near the marker at the birthplace of John "Johnny Appleseed" Chapman, on Johnny Appleseed Lane in Leominster. Hope someone enjoys it!
