Invisible Women
2 journalers for this copy...

Had the chance to get this book at a reading with Caroline Criado Perez in Oslo, and knew I would love it and want to hold on to it but also share it... so I just had to grab an extra copy for bookcrossing :-D
An impressive collection of data (and data gaps!) about the tendency to design for men and male bodies, from snow ploughing schedules to car seats, from heart attack recognition to economic models. The fun and sarcastic tone makes this depressing read surprisingly enjoyable - good thing there's a newsletter and a podcast by the author to get more!

Travelling as a ray but staying in Norway for now, enjoy!

This book went home from meetup with me and I totally forgot to journal it ... ! I'm sorry :-( In the meantime I have read it and quite enjoyed it, it has a lot of interesting info that put a lot of things into perspective. My one real beef with the book is that the author doesn't make a completely clear distinction between sex and gender. Which is a huge problem, and makes me a little suspicious of the author's stance on certain political issues. But I am hyper vigilant on those issues and the book is definitely worth reading. :-)
I will take this book with me to meetup this afternoon and see if any local BCer wants to take part in the ray :-)
