Touching and feeling is an essential part child development and this book gives babies the chance to discover different textures. The book is made of board with the simple, childlike illustrations cut to enable various fabrics to simulate the feathers, wool and skin of animals around the farm. Unlike the real creatures these do not mind being petted. The text accompanying the pictures is mediocre and there could have been wider range of materials to touch and feel. There are better books of this type currently available.
