Hope you enjoy it - I am from Edinburgh originally (a small town just on the outskirts that features briefly in Irvine Welsh's Trainspotting, but the last time I sent that as part of this challenge the reader absolutely hated it!) and what I love about the Rebus books is that he's writing in real time, so the city changes with the books. This book was published in 1987, the year I started High School, so it's the city I remember from my childhood and teens.

Arrived home to find this on my stoop. A great choice for me, I think!

Parts of this were very good, while I found other parts quite dated and somehow too masculine. Don't know if I'll read more Ian Rankin, but definitely not a waste of time.
