I bought this half price at a reduced books store in Vienna to read during my holidays at the sea side.
My husband was suprised "you don't like Hemingway" - ha, I had forgotten about my dislike, and although I'd say I tend to bear grudges, I simply sometimes forget if not forgive :-)
I've already started it and I am not sure if I am reading this for the first time. But I am starting to suspect I disliked the mysogyny in Hemingway's books, and as there are so far no women in this one there was no chance for that, so quite a good read so far.
Now I am pretty sure I've already read it and I am surprised it's less disastrous I remembered it. Or I got more tolerant with age... of course he looses the fish, but he somehow liked the process and the others in the village show they are nice people.

left with Tróndur Patursson, the Faroe Islands are a bit off Havanna, but the spirit may be similar in some ways
