The Catcher in the Rye
6 journalers for this copy...
A classic book, I read it in junior high. I plan on releasing or giving away this copy.
Mailed today to Nik-The-Stik via a trade. Enjoy the book!
Caught "The Catcher" today, Carrotcake! :) Thanks a lot - can't wait to read it! Nice trading with you :)
I loved this novel - it was so refreshingly different. I honestly don't even want to corrupt it by attempting some kind of review... I will just leave it at that! :) I am putting this on my available shelf for someone who may love reading it as much as I did!
Thanks again to Carrotcake for sharing this with me!

my chums from highschool and I were all Caulfields...
This is one of the best books ever written-and popular books normally turn me off-I can't believe how many lines from this book and references I use/hear all the time (go wash your own moron face)
sickeningly perfect reading-I couldn't put it down at work today(lucky the boss was 4 hours late coming in)-
reserved for a BC'er quadrat who emailed me to trade for it...

this book is great. i just finished reading it. i loved the imagery in it, and the way the main character, holden caulfield is both likable at times, funny, dislikable and has moments of pure pain and confusion in the book that are full of emotion and realism. i like the way the book ends too as i felt it was a 'real' ending, a strong statement both about the book's title and his understandable state of mind. there are so many gems in this book about regret, mistakes and living life, and the value of having someone to care about. someone talked to me on the tube as i was reading it, and she said to me 'do you understand the book?' to which i said no, and she explained that she was in new york when it was released and she related to how impossible it was for a jewish person then to break into american culture. sending this book as a trade to MrMustard!

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I'm one of the few people who wasn't forced to read it in school and it's taken me ages to finally get round to it. Deserves its reputation as an American classic.
