A book club choice.
I read this years ago, before joining Bookcrossing, but enjoyed it tremendously. We'd had a holiday in Crete and had a ride to Spinalonga with a local fisherman, just me & Andrew & the kids in his small boat. The place was so atmospheric; there were still curtains hanging in some of the windows. It was really easy to imagine Hislop's characters living there.
Because I enjoyed it so much, I don't want to read it again.
