A quick tour of Harrogate's charity shops added a few books to my To Be Read shelves this morning: this one came from the Saint Michael's Hospice shop, chosen because, although I've already enjoyed several Kate Shackleton mysteries, I'm always happy to read more . . .

This is actually the first book featuring Kate Shackleton, a very good start to what's proving to be a very good series. Kate lives in Leeds and her investigations take her out and about in Yorkshire in the 1920s, a superb time and place to visit for a while.
This story tells of a disappearing mill owner whose daughter wants him found in time to walk her up the aisle on her wedding day.

From my friend and Neighbour Nu-Knees.
A Kate Shackleton mystery is always a good read.
However I am sure I have read this one. I can't find any record of doing so but having read a little the characters and story line is very familiar.
I'll read a bit more before being certain.

First Kate Shackleton mystery I've read. Thoroughly enjoyed the descriptive text. I could "see" the scenery. Good plot and look forward to reading more.
