I got this hardcover from a local thrift shop. Set in the days leading up to WWII, it features a pair of adolescents whose lives are upended when they realize what the rising Nazi party is doing - and when their paths cross that of a woman who's a member of the Dutch resistance, they embark on a desperate journey to rescue as many children as they can from the approaching horrors. (The story is fictionalized, but is based on historical events and people; the author's note at the end goes into this in more detail.)
