I got this handsome ex-library hardcover from Better World Books. It's a mix of counting-book, scenes-from-nature illustrations, and "find the hidden items" book. 1 owl, 2 turtles, 3 thistles, and more, each with lots of little details tucked into the images. (The counted items start with the same letter as the matching number, so a page showing kids' bare feet on a lawn full of grass, clover, and flowers provides a hint as to what to count in the number "20". Then there's a sneaky one - "8" shows several rabbits, but not eight of them, so one has to count the ears instead. And "9" for "narwhal" is a bit tricky if one doesn't recognize narwhals on sight!)

I left this book in the beautiful Little Free Library outside Pickity Place; hope someone enjoys it!
