July's ABC bookclub book! Thriller isn't really one of my go-to genres but what is a bookclub for, if not to expand my reading!
I certainly didn't hate it, but I was very careful not to read too close to bedtime which was the right decision. I thought it did an excellent job of ramping up the tension, and the characters were excellent, none of them were what I would classify as "the good guy" which added to the drama. Plus the gore was kept to the bare minimum which I was thankful for.
I'm curious to see what the rest of the bookclub thinks!

Not my favourite book from the book club, but it was quite gripping (although more in a "how is this going to resolve" way than from any real concern about what would happen to the characters - I didn't like any of them enough to be really invested in what happened to them). I think I liked the book more in retrospect after I listened to the podcast, when the author (I think it was?) pointed out that yes all the characters make dumb and selfish decisions, but that's what people do at that age.
The bookclub's fourth member is here for Christmas, so passing it on to them now.
