I got this softcover at a local Savers thrift shop. It contains a variety of interesting facts, people, and places from New Jersey, arranged by date, from the hadrasaur fossil to Henry Hudson's visit and on through the centuries. (I'd read about famed jumper-from-high-places Sam Patch in this book, and had also read about the 1916 shark attacks in Close to Shore.)

Other entries range from early motion pictures to the explosion of the Hindenberg, the kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby to a large plaster elephant - and, of course, the genesis of Atlantic City as a gambling resort.

I left this book in the Little Free Library; hope someone enjoys it!
