Terryfing. Sadness. Pain. These are the words left when I turned the last page of this book. Presently it's the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz - the concentration camp in World War Two. I think of it when I read about the Colonies, the way they "unhumanise" people and starve them to death or when the reader's told about the people living outside that see their plight but can do (won't do) nothing to help. It's a really terryfing view of the futur. The story is almost unbearable sometimes, especially when Ofred's talking directly to us.
Atwood's style is really witty with this search in language, in words. Moreover the style's very sober even if the situation is unthinkable.
I'll release this book in Caen for the Megabookcrossing (a great hunting day in a park)and hope it'll go in someone's hands.
Thank you for sharing this book.
