The first of Trigiani’s novels that I’ve read with a male protagonist. Bartolomeo di Crespi is an interior designer in a small New Jersey town. A devout Catholic, close to his quirky family, his lifelong dream is to renovate his parish church. When he gets the assignment, he begins to understand the warning of “be careful what you ask for.”
