Picked up this cute miniature edition (3¼" x 2⅝" x ⅜") by Levenger/Running Press at a rummage sale at Kalani High School: it's a beautifully made little book, and appears to be the entire play, if in rather tiny print. Zoomable photo here.

I'm claiming this tiny softcover from the Small Box of Small Books (see the rest of my selections in the bookbox journal here). It'd make a great candidate for a geocache release, especially if I can find one with a Shakespearian theme!

I've enjoyed several versions of this play, including the charming 1993 film adaptation and this surprisingly enjoyable manga adaptation. The original text is quite enjoyable, though not without some bits needing interpretation. [I do pride myself on my vocabulary, but I still need some help with some of Shakespeare's turns of phrase {grin}.] The banter is great fun, though it's even better when performed by actors who can milk it for all it's worth!

One of my favorite lines, between Benedick and Beatrice: "Thou and I are too wise to woo peaceably." That's one of many that read a lot differently to me now than it would have when I was much younger.

I left this little book, bagged for protection, in the old lost lantern geocache in New Ipswich NH; hope someone enjoys it!
