Fabulous for it’s time. I suppose there’s something to radical power of the protagonist falling in love in a society that’s decided she’s only meant to be used as a concubine.
…but I can’t help but imagine how cool it would be if today, the subplots focused far more on power of female bonds and stuff. I dunno.
