I got this softcover at Toadstool Books in Nashua. It's a manga postulating that Iron Man has assigned Deadpool to a new Avengers squad based in Japan: The Samurai Squad! And - not surprisingly - it's absolutely hilarious. Deadpool starts out as his usual foul-mouthed self, right up to the point where he blurts out an expletive that's black-bar-censored on the panel - and he notes that he was just curious as to Shonen Jump's censorship guidelines. [There are LOTS of delightful 4th-wall-breaking bits here, with my favorite being the one where Deadpool telegraphs the upcoming two-page-spread battle scene - and then, on the page following that scene, mutters about how quickly the reader flipped past a page that must have taken the mangaka's assistants days to draw!]
We get a few scenes of other Avengers, notably Captain America and Iron Man, with some crossover characters including Loki (the instigator of most of this particular plot, such as it is {wry grin}). And there are Japanese versions of some of the heroes, most notably Sakura Spider (no need to say who she's based on) and the idol-singer Neiro and her Venom-esque symbiont. [The switch between big-eyed-adorable Neiro and massively-fanged-maw "Kage" is quite entertaining every time it happens.] Neiro does have a complex about her fans - she'll let them get away with absolutely anything as long as they remain fans of hers, leading to some interesting swerves in the story.
It's all played for comedy, but there are some classic dramatic and action-based scenes (all commented on snarkily by Deadpool), and in general it's a lot of fun.
[There's a short TV Tropes page on the series, with links to Deadpool's own page.]
