A long book that is eminently readable and which I have re-read at least twice. Characters are well developed and distinctive. This book was made into a BBC mini-series which is excellent, only lacking CC which we older people need. The screen play for the mini series did write out Jacky Belamy, an American WWII war correspondent who had a large role in the book. This is probably a fair assessment of an RAF flying squadron in WWII.

Placed book in LFL along with author's first book "Goshawk Squadron" . "Piece of Cake" is a wonderful account of a fictional RAF Squadron during WWII. Good read with well developed characters.
