1983 Avon paperback of the 1974 blackmail thriller. This was on my list of best past thrillers to read when I found this copy today in the Wisconsin Little Free Library.
I can let this go after I read:

1954 The Law at Randado [read 2014]
1956 Escape from Five Shadows [read 2015]
1959 Last Stand at Saber River [read 2017]
1961 Hombre [read 2013]
1950s The Complete Western Stories of Elmore Leonard [read 2009]
1969 The Big Bounce [read 2010]
1969 The Moonshine War [read 2012]
1970 Valdez Is Coming [n/a]
1972 Forty Lashes Less One [read 2020]
1974 Mr. Majestyk [n/a]
Edit May 15, 2022: This was good, but I just skimmed most of it to end for time. I did catch the critical middle parts, and the ending resolution was worth a slow read as well. It's a satisfying series of thrills, in a short little book. I currently have this ranked at #703 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
