For the first time since Watership Down, Richard Adams returns to the world of the rabbits which he created so memorably in one of the greatest and most popular classics of imaginative literature to be published since the war. The millions who have enjoyed Watership Down will be delighted to recenter this unique and special world.

The first part of Tales from Watership Down includes several of the traditional folk stories known to all rabbits. Then follow tales about the adventures of El-ahrairah, the mythical rabbit hero, and his stalwart, Rabscuttle, during their long journey home after their terrible encounter with the Black Rabbit of Inle (as narrated in Watership Down).

In the third and principal section are stories about Hazel, Fiver, Bigwig and their companions, including the impact on the warren of the obsessive doe Flyairth and the appointment of Hyzenthlay as a femal Chief Rabbit and partner to Hazel.

This book is in every way a worthy successor to Watership Down. Convincing, compelling and splendidly readable, it will carry its enthusiastic readers once more to the chalk Downland, home of the resourceful Hazel and his friends.
