I've no memory of watching the films so don't know how the book compares, but I'd hoped for better I confess. It was an alright story, and certainly had some interesting ideas (including Bastion's journey from reader to participant), but it just didn't grab me. I skim-read some chunks as they seemed long-winded. It may just be that styles of writing for children have changed over time.

Many thanks to LittleSuz for a cute birthday card with a cat on the front, a pack of HawkHead Whiskey Smoked Cashew nuts, (Will enjoy them later with an apprpriate glass of the hard stuff lol), A pack of Pea Freen Boat Sheese Sables, never seen these they look delicious, and also a book of my favourite film The Never Ending Story with Falkor a good luck Dragon.
