This was leftover at the end of the 2022 Gaithersburg Book Festival. I hope to continue its journey soon.
This book was originally the property of Fatima High School in Liverpool. I'd love to know how it ended up in Maryland.

This is one of several books that have been waiting in vain for a new reader in Melydia's LFL for months. I will take it to meet-up next week. But I will be reading it first, because I like Josephine Tey's books.
I wanted to read this book because I enjoy Josephine Tey's books. This is a much simplified version of one of her books, adapted for a middle grade audience. It is written very simply and with only the necessary details. The mystery loses something when that happens. In fact, they did not really follow a mystery format, more of a story telling format, so there were no clues to unravel for the reader, only clues that were explained when deduced by the main characters. Still, it was an interesting story. If I were to run across the original version, I would read it to see if the things I missed in this version were there.
