By the same author that wrote one of my favorite books, The Professor and the Madman. I didn't enjoy this one as much, but it was fascinating. I did have to skim through some of the more scientific detail.

I found this book in a Little Free Library in San Francisco, and am happy to release it back into the wild in Greenwich. It strikes me as the type of book that enjoys travel.
