and Jen McLaughlin. A short story book from the Book Shots series.
I re-read this bookshot as I intend to send this out shortly.
A short very fast paced thriller as far as I am concerned. If someone thinks is a romance (as James Patterson does from the preamble), I would be dubious of their credentials! Sex certainly, but no romance as far as I could see. Some idealistic future settling perhaps but that is all.
Nonetheless, as an unusual short and easy read this worked out well.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
A long promised book which for some odd reason has never yet made its way to you, until now.
Thanks for passing this book back to me Flutterbies9. It’s accompanied with a wee label, in my hand-writing, saying I bought it, apparently in 2019 [presumably December, when I was staying with you for Christmas] that you were welcome to register it as I had run out of time to do so and I would like to read it as these ‘Book Shots’ tend to be wee adrenaline rushes! [Huh, utterly forgotten about this.]
So, a surprise and what's fun is that I singled this out in the past! No idea how long this will be on a TBR pile as I wickedly tend to read whatever provokes my interest in the moment, rather than operate a system where the oldest book to be acquired is the next book to be read from my book stash.
This book travels with;
The Crossing Places by Elly Griffiths and
Finding Love at the Christmas Market by Jo Thomas [not registered with BookCrossing]
More wicked - I’ve inhaled the accompanying tasty bar of Dark Cherry chocolate. YUM & GONE!

Good lord did this infuriate me... Shallow as a wee puddle. Yes, I'll agree a fast-paced wee thriller though it felt like the brisk sensual experiences, rather than any kind of discovery of a deep and meaningful relationship, were the main hook... And frankly if sensual sizzle, were my main reading goal I prefer Grace Burrows, Gaelen Foley, and Julia London, who are only three of the many who all do a splendid job in this arena. Perhaps I'm not the audience for this?
THE McCULLAGH INN IN MAINE (McCullagh Inn Series) by JEN McLAUGHLIN & JAMES PATTERSON (2016) | ISBN: 1-78653-035-X / 978-1-78653-035-6 (UK PB) | Publisher: BookShots
What's all this with all these thousands of Patterson + other author collaborations. Under Patterson's name... in singular! What's that about... Arrgh...
OK I've come back to reflect on my reading notes, edited my review and focused on the back of the cover where text reads, HEART-WARMING ROMANCES PRESENTED BY JAMES PATTERSON. I've forgotten I read somewhere that book shots were all about encouraging reluctant readers to engage with books!
