Richard Sharpe—Soldier, hero, rogue—the man you always want on your side.
The year is 1799. Born in poverty, Sharpe joined the army to escape jail and climbed the ranks by sheer brutal courage. He knows no other family than the regiment of the 95th Rifles, whose green jacket he proudly wears.
“The greatest writer of historical adventures today.”

I’ve read many of Bernard Cornwell’s books, the Grail Quest, Warlord Chronicles and the Saxon Stories. Happy to find the first book of the Sharpe series.
Excellent book as all Cornwell books are. Putting it into a little library for the next reader.
