The author was born with sacral agenesis. Since this was a memoir I thought the book would be about her dealing with her disability throughout her life. However, the book takes place over approximately a year and a half as she travels the world trying to understand the standards the world has concerning beauty and desirability. There were many references to philosophers which just isn’t what I am into.
