I got this softcover at Newbury Comics in the Pheasant Lane Mall, for another release copy.

This was the first volume of the series that I encountered, though I've since read all the rest. It's an episodic AND horror series, with poignant bits and some humor. But mainly, lots of twist-and-twist-again endings that turn touching stories into nightmares - appropriate, given the title of the series!

One story deals with a youth whose nightmares involve an old crime and a personal tragedy, but his fear of confronting the truth results in his leaving the shop without any resolution, to suffer the nightmares again and again.

There's a film narrator who fears losing his ability to speak; lovers separated by a wall in nightmares - and whose dreams don't match. (That one involves another visit to the Delirium, where the conflict between wishful thinking and reality comes into play.) And more...
