I found this paperback at a local Savers thrift shop, and nabbed it for another release copy. I've enjoyed several books in this series, including Anteater of Death.

This story has Teddy taking the zoo's llama, Alejandro, to a local Renaissance Fair - llamas being so very Tudor {wry grin} - and it's charming to see how the llama gradually warms to Teddy. (He loves little kids, hence his suitability to give kiddie-rides at the fair, but has always loathed adults due to a background involving abusive owners.) By the end of this book he's Teddy's firm friend, and even saves the day! But in between there are murders to solve - and the usual wacky hijinx involving Teddy's family, neighbors, and co-workers (but mostly her family; I'd have moved as far away from both her parents as possible if I were in her position!). The silliness does get out of hand pretty often, with plot-points that stretch credibility and with characters behaving in truly ludicrous fashion, but all the bits involving the animals are funny and sometimes touching.

I left this book in the Little Free Library; hope someone enjoys it!
