I stumbled across this on a discount rack at a Menards in Green Bay of all places. Having heard good things about the Longmire series, I thought I'd give it a try.

Well, sounds like this was not the strongest book in the series. I guess some of the regular characters did not have prominent roles in the story. Probably because half the book was set in the past and half in present time. Overall, I thought the book was entertaining but may have been better to start with an earlier book in the series in order to get to know the characters a little better. A large part of one storyline took place on a train pulled by an old steam locomotive, which made it interesting for me. I was somewhat disappointed with the ending, however, but I don't want to give away any spoilers.

I Passed this book on to a good friend of mine in Green Bay.

If you are a fan of crime fiction or Craig Johnson's Longmire series, you may enjoy this one. Looking forward to your thoughts on the story and curious as to where this book travels next.
