Incredibly dull. No humour and the main protagonists were boring and unlikeable. The only really enjoyable section was the trek up the mountain in Bali; the descriptions of the people and place.
I kept reading - skimming - to see what would happen, to find out whether the tedium would be worth it at the end. It really wasn’t.
