Owen Sheers writes beautifully, I've not read any of his poetry but I'd like to. Reading this book, you know that something momentous is going to happen, but this something isn't revealed until around the halfway mark. This makes the tension extremely high and you keep reading, desperate to know what is going to happen.
The something was not what I expected and I must admit I thought the book lost it's way a little with that loss of tension. It was still a really good read though.
