" ABOUT THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN
Now a major motion picture starring Robert Redford and Sissy Spacek, The Old Man and the Gun is here joined by two other riveting true-crime tales.

“The Old Man and the Gun” is the incredible story of a bank robber and prison escape artist who modeled himself after figures like Pretty Boy Floyd and who, even in his seventies, refuses to retire. “True Crime” follows the twisting investigation of a Polish detective who suspects that a novelist planted clues in his fiction to an actual murder. And “The Chameleon” recounts how a French imposter assumes the identity of a missing boy from Texas and infiltrates the boy’s family, only to soon wonder whether he is the one being conned. In this mesmerizing collection, David Grann shows why he has been called a “worthy heir to Truman Capote” and “simply the best narrative nonfiction writer working today,” as he takes the reader on a journey through some of the most intriguing and gripping real-life tales from around the world. Judging from the book's format and from the dates of the first story, I thought this was an older edition, but it turns out this is a 2018 book. I guess author and publisher tried to gain from the hype of a new movie- the title of the book- ?

The book contains three different stories, all of them real crime cases which I guess are interesting on their own right. The first story felt familiar to me while for sure I knew of the other two stories, although I can't remember when or where I've heard of these cases. The problem is that this is a slim tome and still the author fitted three separate cases which are irrelevant one to the other. There is no depth or much feeling in the narration or any kind of reasoning for this book's existence to be honest.

I read it easily in one afternoon, but it was a neutral and kind of pointless read. Not bad, not great, no nothing.

Released at Metro Panormou.

Good Luck little book and Don't forget to write your news from time to time!
